Maximilian Kroker is an attorney focusing on IT and data protection law and a computer scientist. This interdisciplinary background combines legal expertise with deep technical understanding—a combination of particular value to technology-oriented companies. His professional focus is on the legal support of digital business models, especially in dealing with software products, open-source components, cloud infrastructures, and regulatory requirements such as the GDPR, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), or the AI Act.

After studying law at Humboldt University of Berlin and computer science at Technische Universität Berlin, Maximilian Kroker gained practical experience in various renowned law firms and institutions—including an international “Magic Circle” law firm, the legal arm of a Big Four company, internationally and nationally renowned media boutiques, a nationwide IT industry association, and a data protection authority. His work ranged from developing legal software prototypes and shaping data protection strategies to the technical analysis of copyright issues.

In addition to his legal practice, Maximilian Kroker is active in publishing and academia. His publications address, among other topics, the practical implementation of the GDPR and the use of open-source software under regulatory requirements. He regularly gives talks on digital law topics, including at the DGRI Annual Conference and the Telemedicus Summer Conference.

Thanks to his experience in agile development environments, collaboration with tech teams, and his entrepreneurial mindset, he communicates legal requirements precisely and in a practical way.
